Cork is a city rich in culture, history and natural beauty. The streets that wrap around the city are easily navigated, and many stunning views and great sights can be enjoyed along the way. Cork is also a good starting point for exploring the lovely countryside of West Cork.
One of the most remarkable sights in lovely Fitzgerald's Park is St Ann's Church, which has a splendid bell tower affording good views of the city. St Finn Barres Cathedral is also worth visiting; while the remains of the old city walls can be found at Elizabeth’s Fort.

In the city of Cork you’ll find a blissful atmosphere in the pubs, where you can appreciate a smoothly poured pint of Guinness. You can also sit back and enjoy the legendary music that resonates across the city every evening.
Other great attractions within the city include: the bustling English market; the epic adventure exhibition of the 1796 Armada; the Cork Visitors’ Centre; and Desmond Castle.
Only half an hour’s drive from the city is the famous Blarney Stone at Blarney Castle. Kiss the stone and your luck will carry with you for ever more - well, that’s what they say. Also nearby is the beautiful and historic town of Cobh. The lovely seaside town of Kinsale is the site of the 17th century Charles Fort.
Travelling by car is the most practical and rewarding way to discover Ireland. Access to Cork city centre is relatively traffic free and takes no more than 20 minutes. From Cork, take the N11 northeast to Dublin, the N21 east to Waterford and Wexford, the N22 westwards to Tralee and Killarney, and the N20 northwest to Limerick and onwards to Galway.
Cork's international airport services flights from European destinations and is the only international airport in southern Eire. Regional flights are regular to all major destinations in the Republic of Ireland and several destinations in Northern Ireland.
