Home of the billion dollar American film industry, Los Angeles cater to visitors of all ages, making the 'City of Angels' one of the most popular tourist destinations in the United States.
The two most famous attractions are both located south of the city. For beach lovers, Santa Monica is an attractive beachside suburb with action centred on the 3rd Street Promenade and the Santa Monica Pier. Venice Beach epitomizes the carefree Californian beach lifestyle. Further away are Pasadena, a museum town depicting Wild West California at the turn of the 20th century, and the once famous Palm Springs, now less exclusive and more sedate than in its heyday.
The Los Angeles International Airport is the third busiest in the world and is serviced by flights from Asia and Europe, as well as by flights from many US domestic cities. Regular shuttle services operate between the airport and all destinations in and around the city.
